2016 scab 4x4 3.5 NA...slow common man build

This is my 3rd F150 and hopefully the last one for about 10 years.

Truck specs :
2016 F150 XL Supercab 4x4
3.5 NA
Power and chrome package
Tow package with 3.73
Pro trailer back up assist

Truck is mainly used for commuting and hauling dirt bikes and small travel trailer to and from races.

Red truck was my original F150, white truck was the one this truck is replacing.

Second step...get rid of the air dam and sorry excuse for sound dampening under the truck. I do use the truck for off road on the beaches of OBX and sometimes around races...don't wanna rip this garbage off while doing that or have to pull it everytime I do an oil change

I have some moto metal MO970s and black tube step bars on the way for it that I should have mounted on Monday. Within the next month it will be leveled and eventually get some 285s. Im still undecided on a tuner because the stock power is so good.

My red truck had the 4.2 with a 5 speed, tuner, intake and exhaust and I added 4.10 gears. It towed OK but was lacking torque and I really needed 4wd.

The white truck had the 4.6 with the tow package with an intake , exhaust and tuner. It towed much better than the 4.2 and was perfect for towing the 4k travel trailer and dirt bikes.

The 16 3.5 NA is bone stock and has more power and tows better than the 4.6 did. Its amazing how far v6's have came in the last few years. I liked the 5.0 but was looking for better mpg unloaded and the ecoboost motors just scared me. I like to keep it simple and the 3.5 seems rock solid and has more than enough power for what I'll do.

Looks sharp! You have good taste. Glad to see others still interested in an extended cab truck. I thought I was the only one left

Good to hear the 3.5 gets the job done. My last truck, a 2011, had the 3.7 NA and I was very impressed with it.

The 3.7 was a better engine, I thought it was ridiculous they came out with this motor to try to upsell the smaller eco

I was actually looking for the same trim in a crew cab with the 6.5 foot bed, but that seems to be the unicorn. Plus the price difference wasn't worth it to me. After riding in the new scab with flat rear floor and doors that open all the way, I was sold on a Supercab again.

Towed a full loaded travel trailer, generator and two bikes this weekend. Handled it great. Maintained 75 mph pretty easily on some fairly steep grades. Tranny never got over 202°.

Got the deezee step bars mounted today and had the ugly stock exhaust hacked off and a turn down put in place of it.

2.5 autospring level installed. I'm gonna put the 3 inch block in the rear tomorrow because it's a little nose high now.
