Anyone replace a front cv axle yet?

I screwed up and over torqued the hub nut on the axle when reinstalling while putting on a leveling kit. Broke the bastard off. I've installed a ton of leveling kits, glad it was my own that I broke... Anyway, haven't R&R'd one yet, checking to see if anyone has removed a passenger side axle yet, looking for what all it I entails. Thanks!

Good grief. How much torque did it take to break it?

That was my question also. Sounds like somebody needs to get their torque wrench calibrated......

What year truck? You posted in the 2015, 2016 forum but your info says 2009. There are lots of videos on line but don't know if they cover the new truck. Maybe the procedure isn't much different.

I'm sure that statement inspires tons of confidence that theirs were done correctly.

My 02 has a big nut holding the bearing hub on that requires about 221 ft lbs of torque. the 04 and up is designed differently and it has a small nut that only takes 30 or so ft lbs. I can understand breaking it off especially if an impact was used too quickly.
