No tire spin from dead stop

I have a 2015 5.0 with 3.31 e-locking rear axle. I have noticed even with my last two F150's that the tires do not spin from a dead stop and when I punch the throttle. I have driven other trucks including Chevy, Dodge, and Toyota and they do spin at least a little from dead stop and punching the throttle. Is this something Ford has programed into the transmission to maintain traction? It seems that the initial takeoff is slow then picks up speed. Any ideas?

Normal. If you want to spin the tires you have to turn the traction control off.

I have tried it with the traction turned off also. The only way I got them to spin was to power brake it.

Traction control is rarely completely off, even when you turn it off. There aren't a lot of vehicles I know of where you can totally disable TC. I'd guess that as part of TC, the engine map is set to limit torque at low speeds.

Why do you want to spin the tires?

I just wanted to see what it could do and was surprised it didn't spin the tires. I have tried it by pushing the traction control button and also holding the button and turning off advanced traction control. Plus I've even turned on the locker. Same results.

Also, it has the 3.31 rear end, which isnt doing you any favors.

I would suggest if you want to spin the tires, go buy a mustang... this is a truck, and you shouldnt be spinning the tires in any vehicle, it's against the law

well most do call it a 5.slow for a reason

I'm kidding, I'm kidding..

Not sure what the deal is. I know my little ol twin turbo v6 will roast em up to 50mph if i let it.

Even with the TC on the light flashes all the time from loosing traction.

If I had a Mustang I'd be doing what you say I shouldn't be doing and breaking the law. LOL

BTW, I never said I was doing this on the street. I have access to plenty of private property I can play on.

If I power brake I can do the same.

Well, my 5.0 will spin them just fine (tires are too $$$). If your planning on spinning tires on stops perhaps a mustang will suit your driving style.

I've been stuck in wet leaves in my 2wd f250 because you absolutely can not 'rock' it out. Even with tc off you can not spin your way out. It has a new set of michelin at2s so it isnt the tires.

It is quite communist. And yes wet leaves.

I can spin the tires in my 3.5 EB. Pretty sure it has the 3.55 elocker rear. I couldn't spin the tires in my '04 F150 5.4 V8 until I bought the XCal3 with a performance tune. Then I was able to spin 'em.

The 3.31 is hurting you for sure. Since it is a drive by wire, the throttle plate is not actually opening all the way up when you stomp it. The computer limits the throttle plate to give you a safer acceleration. Also, they don't want to break driveline parts from to quick of acceleration. The traction control and anti sway control seem like they never actually shut off even when you push and hold the button. The dash says they are, but I can still feel the brakes working. Kind of sucks that you can't have fun with these when you want to.
And by the way, if you want to smoke the hides, I say go for it. It's your truck, have some fun.
I do have to admit that my EB will spin them pretty good. Especially with these less than stellar GoodYears on it. They lack grip.
