At first I thought this was weird, but now I love it. Perfect place for my phone and work badge. Is there some advantage to having the shifter in the center console that I am missing?

 

I think they just do it for looks. I'd love to have a column shift, but I'm thinking about going with a Platinum. I wonder if there's any way to special order one like that - I'm guessing not.

Another reason to wait to see the '17 Super Duties before I decide.
