Cancel truck order

I am thinking about ordering a 2015 f150 but being in the NW there are non you can test drive I was wondering if anyone know if you order one and when it arrives you don't like the way it drives are you stuck with the truck and or lose your deposit. I have not ordered yet... although all that I had read on the truck it highly unlikely, if it even equal to the 2014 f150 its a deal although I am expecting it to exceed it..

depends. sometimes if the dealership is a good one, you can turn down the ordered truck, no harm no foul.

however, there are some that you will make you have to wait for the truck to sell to get your deposit back.

and then others where the deposit is gone.

best bet is wait until the 2015s are available to test drive before ordering one.

There aren't any to test drive anywhere - they aren't out yet.

I am in early negotiation with dealer seems as long as I don't go crazy on ordering and considering the demand for the truck should not be a issue I asking for that in writing.

It does depend on the dealer. When i ordered mine i asked the question to make sure in case i ran into an emergency before it came in and couldnt afford it for some odd reason. But I personally wouldn't order one until I drove it to make sure I liked it. You never know, it may be hard for some people to see out of or just don't feel right to them.

As far as driving one? No they are not on the lots yet, but there were a couple of them in town today at the Alcoa plant for the employees to test drive. Maybe you would be lucky enough to find a place where they will be and see if you can take advantage of that.

Heres the link to the newspaper article.

The more agreeable the options you specify are to the dealer, the better the chance is they will simply put it in stock and refund your deposit if you don't want it.

Example - the dealer here only orders vehicles for stock with a few basic colors, the ones they know will sell easily. I think if it's not white, red, blue, or black you gotta special order one or look for a dealer trade. They will not order a vehicle for stock without an automatic trans and A/C. (Yes, I know that's standard on just about everything these days but it's been this way for years over there)

Congrats on pulling the trigger on a new ride, rtrgjr! Send me a PM with your order number and dealership name/location; I'll provide you with weekly updates on your truck's progress.

looking for opinions, I still have 6 days to change my order and one of the options I did not click on was the 33 gal tank up from the standard 23, adding 60 lb of added weight does not seem worth it, and thoughts

For the average driver the standard gas tank is plenty large. If you pull a trailer a lot and on the hiway long distances, the extra tankage can be useful. Personally, I'd skip it.

The extended range tank will be 36 gallons if you decide to get it.

+1^^^^

If you only drive locally, I wouldn't bother with the larger tank. If you road trip or haul, it will come in handy.

Personally, I have a 51 gallon Titan Tank in my truck and love it since I do a few long distance trips a year (3000+ miles round trip). The only downside is I need to empty my tank before the truck tank needs to be filled back up...

It depends on what you mean by standard and are buying. If you are buying a 4x4, on the current 2014 F-150 the F-150 4x4 EcoBoost it comes with a 36 gallon standard tank and 4x2 trucks come with a 26 gallon tank. On the 2015 they made the standard tank smaller at 23 gallons and made the 36 gallon optional on everything.

If the 2015 3.5 EcoBoost gains 1 mpg and you go by hwy miles = 22 miles x 23 gallon tank = up to 503 miles. On the 2014 it was 21 mpg x 36 gallons = 756 miles. A loss of range of 253 miles eventhough the 2015 has 1 mpg better fuel economy. I like the extended range which used to be standard on the current F-150 4x4's.

Have the 36 gallon tank on my 2014... Had a 26 gallon tank on my previous 2008, definitely worth the extra bit for more range.
