Heated mirrors

Anybody bypassed the rear slider to allow heat to side mirrors? Zack my GSD goes everywhere with me and I keep the slider open for him but a lot of times I need the mirrors to heat and keep clear ... How and where did you make change? TIA

I don't have one but I've been told that the rear window heaters are in series with the side mirror heaters therefore you can't simply bypass the rear heater without overloading the side heaters. You would need to bypass the rear heater through a large resistor or other device to drop the voltage to the side heaters. You're not the first one to have this problem and it would be nice is someone would measure the current through the heaters and the voltage across each one then we could find a suitable bypass.
