2-piece driveshaft carrier bearing drop for 3" block?

If I install 3" lift blocks with an '09 2-piece driveshaft 4X4 is it neccessary or recommended to shim the carrier bearing bracket downwards?

I read that the 4x4 has 1.25" factory blocks, so this will add 1.75". I also read that the recommendation is 1/4" bearing drop per 1" lift, so 7/16" shim for the bearing?

Has anyone installed 3" blocks on a 2-piece driveshaft setup and not shimmed the carrier bearing bracket?

How long is your truck? Mine is a 4x4 on a 145" wheelbase and my driveshaft is one piece with no carrier bearing.

Mine is 157" (SuperCrew with 6.5" box) and it definitely has a two-piece driveshaft and carrier bearing.
