Dirt in Tailgate

I used my truck to haul a load of topsoil, and now it seems like a can not get the dirt out from the inside of my tailgate. Anyone have a handy solution to this? My tailgate has the step in it as well.

Have you tried taking the plastic inner liner off? You might be able to vacuum or blow out the dirt with it off.
