Clunk and jump/diesel sound (two seperate issues)
Got a 2010 f150 I just bought about 6 months ago and I feel like it had the same small jump and clunk when I applied the brakes basically almost at a complete stop but still slowly rolling but I think it's gotten worse. I keep reading about the clunk from other forums so I didn't want this to be lumped in with them because I didn't know if the "jump" was also part of the "clunk" so if anyone has had that issue before please give me input.
So also (apparently to me and my friend only) my truck sounds like a diesel truck and I want it to stop because it's bothering me.

If you have a 5.4 3v then that's kinda a normal sound to them. That's the cam phasers.. If it sounds absolutely horrible diesel sound and like the engine doesn't want to run then your phasers are fried. Only way to fix that is to change all the timing components to new, and even then the noise may come back. Ticking noises could also just be your VCT solenoids opening and closing..
For the brakes I can't help you there sorry.

if you have the two part drive shaft, the slip yoke is sticking. see my post #12 in this thread:

try heavier oil to quiet the valvetrain. I use castrol 0w40 for a silent engine. 103k miles. don't let anyone tell you this engine was designed for 0w20. It was first released in Australia (5.4l 3valve) with a 5w30, 10w30 or 10w40 oil recommendation. The engine design hasn't changed since then. EPA fuel economy requirements have.
