Talking New Truck, New Member =)

Picked up a 2014 5.0 F150 XLT in December new off the lot, already thrown a few mods into it;

Kicker 11HS8 Hideaway Amp / Sub - Excellent sound quality, went with this option because it is self contained and mounts extremely firmly under the rear seat. It has no real footprint as far as space goes, can't be seen from the outside so less chance of theft, and the mount is very solid so it stays in place during those offroading adventures.

2.5" Rough Country Leveling Kit / 31" Tires - The tires will be upgraded to 33" when they need to be replaced, couldn't bring myself to spend another $1200 when these tires have less than 2k miles and are performing great so far.

Tough Line Spray-in Bed Liner

If anyone has any advice or ideas to improve I'm all ears!

Congrats on the new ford would look better with rims and bigger tires. That kicker sub and amp is it the kit that is sold as a plug and play with factory radio? As like the factory kicker sub and amp in some f150 stock.

Yeah I fully agree with you, it would look better with rims and bigger tires, but it just isn't worth the money to me yet. Once these have some miles on them, I can then justify the upgrade =). Currently the truck just tipped the 2k mark, spending nearly $2000 on new wheels / tires when these are in such good shape... I just can't get myself to do it.

The kicker sub and amp combo is not the same one sold by Ford, from my understanding the Ford option is some form of a Sony all-in-one (at least that is what the dealership told me). This one was installed for me by a custom shop that I used for the sound in my previous vehicle as well. I have placed a link to the actual item below;

Also, I should note that this amp / sub comes with some awkward velcro mount... I had the shop actually bracket and mount it to the floor under the right rear passenger seat instead. It is solid as a rock, doesn't move at all.

I run two sets of wheels and tires. Stockers in winter. Cool, you can actually purchase a oem kit for I believe 11+ f150s suppose to be better than the sony. Of course nothing better than running aftermarket stuff.
