High Pressure Power Steering Line Leaking Already?

Brought my 2011 Limited (6.2 so old school hydraulic power steering) in for its 45K service, and they found a weeping high pressure line. $100 special order part + 3 hours labor. This seems a little soon (to me) for PS components to be failing already, or is this a common repair? They said I could leave it alone for now and monitor it but could lose power steering while driving (safety risk).

Anybody heard of high pressure power steering line leaks at such low mileage/age before? Does 3 hours labor sound about right?

The Taurus had this problem back in the day...maybe ford is using that outsource company again...who knows

I know on the gm truck I drive when it's really cold the tranny and oil cooler lines leak but not when they're warm

It seems to be a common failure. Mine was replaced at 70k miles and the part seems to have been updated and changed a number of times (various letter designators after the part number. I got the "G" version.). I have a spare in the garage for next time.

Thanks for the input, I went ahead and let the dealer repair it.
