XL Work Truck or FX4?

Hey guys, I'm making this thread to show my progress on my 2009 Ford F-150 SuperCrew XL. Long story short, I really wanted a 2009 FX4 but being that I was fresh out of high school at the time and a part time job, I just couldn't afford it. So I found a 2009 Ford F-150 SuperCrew XL work truck with 80,000 miles for $11,000. I jumped on that deal. Anyway, being a work truck model it had ugly bumpers that were grey and black. I love how FX4 are color matched so I set out on a mission to color match the truck white. I have to do the rear bumper, grill, front bumper, upper bumper cover, and door handles. So far I have done the rear bumper and the grill. And I must say it has turned out beautiful.

Looks like a good project.

if I may suggest - I would go back and paint the vertical grill supports (the 4 thin ones) black and paint the mesh on both sides black.

I think it would look better with those items "disappearing" due to the black paint.

Other than that, I think it looks great.
Are you doing all the work yourself? If so, its probably a low cost project to make it look a lot better.

Looks great! Looks fully like an FX4 in the back. I'd also suggest maybe painting the bars and mesh black, but it doesn't matter, whatever you like is what's best!

Up-trimming XL and XLTs is great.

I was never a fan of the grille. It does look a lot better in white. If you want to change anything, you might consider a 2014 STX Sport grille. Here's a pic of one. I just bought a truck exactly like this one. Love the looks and it gets plenty of attention too. Probably the 20" wheels help too. By the way, my favorite color for any F150 is white- love it. Yours is a natural favorite- ya done good!

Thanks guys. And the original plan was to leave the bars and mesh black, but what was suppose to take a few days, a buddy of mine did in one day and got over spray so I said that's fine for now and we left it as it. But later down the road it will probably get painted black.

It looks very good. You are doing a great job of making a truck your own creation.

I agree on painting the mesh black. Look's like the Mississippi River levee in one of the pics!

Hey man it does look good I kind of agree with the other guys in regards of the mesh and the thin lines in between but het its your idea and your creation and it sets yours apart from others out there. Keep doing good work and you've got some good ideas.

It is a levee, but not for the Mississippi River. On the other side of the levee is a huge lake and without that, my F150 and my house, but more importantly my F150, would be under water.

I like how that levee is huge, but just like a well-endowed woman, that truck is the only thing I saw in those pics

Yes, that is what I meant. Is it possible that my words could be perceived in any other way?
