I am currently rebuilding a 2012 F150 SuperCrew and have to replace the roof curtain air bags. There is a gentleman that is parting out a 2009 F150 SuperCrew near me where he is selling the air bags. On some of the parts websites (car-part.com) I have put in a 2012 replacement and it has mentioned a 2009 will work after build date of 12/1/2008. The fordparts.com website also lists two different combinations based upon build date of pre-11/30/2008 and post 12/1/2008. The 2009 he is selling the bags off of has a build date of 12/10/2008 according to the VIN sticker. As I understand from other threads this date may be a bit earlier than actual build date.

Parts numbers listed on the specific parts are slightly different.

2009 - 9L34-78043D95-FA
2012 - CL34-78043D95-CA

I also typed both the VINs into the fordparts.com website. Both the 2009 and 2012 list same part number <042D94 with the exactly the same price for each bag. This makes me think they would be equivalent.

Does anyone have any idea if these will work in both fit and function? I would think fit would be fine, but I am questioning the functionality with the electronic airbag module. Obviously I want to make sure before I purchase from him.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
