Sliding Rear Window defog contacts

Has anyone else had an issue with the contacts on the rear sliding window catching on the black molding before it gets to the glass as you open the window?

Welcome to the forum, Ches Emberley. Did you go to your dealership for repair? What's your truck's model year/mileage?

I think it's safe to say that the rear glass defrost has been 'problematic' for the F-150.

I wish mine worked just so I could enjoy the heated mirrors.

That's one big reason why I'm not getting my broken defroster fixed (under warranty). With my luck, they'd fix it and the glass would explode out of warranty. I'd rather have a broken defroster than a broken window. Geez... lesser of two evils.

I can't wait for some frost or some rear window fogging (maybe I should ask the mrs to help with that part?) to see if the rear defrost actually works. but the catching on the trim is still annoying.

Have you brought this to the attention of your dealership, Trizzot? How many miles are on your truck?

Experiencing this problem as well, no rear defrost nor mirrors. Awesome that we have to waste our time and money to fix an ridiculous engineering failure of mass proportion. Ford won't recall but I guess waiting to settle class action lawsuits is a lower cost option for them.

Add me to the list of failed rear defrost. Was at the dealer earlier today, and had them look at it. It's going back tomorrow to have the whole rear window replaced under warranty. I'll keep you posted.
