Here's the process to program additional keys when you have two already programmed keys (don't need to be Ford Factory keys).

Have all three keys together.

You need to do this rather quickly because it times out after like 10 seconds.

Take one of the already programmed keys and put it in the ignition. Turn the key to the on position (all the way forward but not far enough to turn the starter) and then turn it off and remove the key. Do the same process with the second already programmed key. Now take the key that needs programmed and put it in the ignition. Turn it forward like the other two but don't turn it right back off. Wait until the anti-theft light shuts off. the trun ignition off and the 3rd key should be programmed.

Are you trying to program a key with the fob built in to it?

When you do the key cycle with the two programmed keys try leaving the ignition on until the anti-theft light goes out before changing keys. Do that with all 3 keys

I asked our head shop tech. He thinks it's the wrong key or it has a bad chip in it. The process I talked about and you've already gone through is the proper way to program the key. There is a limit to total amount of keys that can be programmed but with a 2010 truck I would doubt that's the case. I forget the number but it's like 10 keys

I'd contact the seller first and explain your problem. Maybe they'll give you a replacement.

the seller originally told me i needed 2 ford factory keys. I was going off what some people on here were telling me. That I only needed 2 already programmed keys, which I have, and not necessarily 2 ford keys.

Ya but the true value key is a clone of the other. Same frequency or sumthn. So truck isnt recognizing it as a 2nd key. I dont know. Thats my thought on it.

I will just deal with it for now and eventually pay them $98 to program it.

I wonder if since the truck senses 3 admin keys it needs to see all three of those keys before programming that one.

Read the instructions again, thoroughly. You are skipping a step, or doing something wrong. If you have 2 working keys, you can program more. I programmed a 4th key for mine using one original, and one ebay special that I had programmed with the original 2 keys.
