Short electrical pulses causes them to do an incomplete start up/warm up which is hard on them....

88racing...they make 14 watt bulbs like the ones you suggested....do you think that would be too much or cause issues?

You will love em till they overheat and burn out the sockets.

3rd car I've had them in, no issues whatsoever. They are a 15 watt HID bulb WAY brighter than anything else out there. Not sure why you'd think they would overheat..Have you owned a set that over heated and burned out the socket? I'd be curious to hear about your experience.

A couple of things...that's a fog light kit, not a reverse light kit. The owner of that truck says they were installed by the previous owner, so we don't know if it was the fault of the equipment or the install. I'm sure if we searched, we could find a post or 2 on just about every product, programmers, intakes, lift kits, tires...whatever, that have failed. It is the exception, not the rule.

An HID actually draws less current than a halogen bulb, so it is unlikely that wires would just "burn up" from a proper install. The trucks factory fog light fuse should have stopped that. My guess would be the bulbs were improperly installed and that contact from the bulbs damaged the wires....

The kit I'm talking about are a 15 watt kit made for back up lights.
