Thoughts? I was really hoping to get a 2013 platinum for under 40k after rebates + ttl.
Lorne, I don't see this much discount on Platinum's in my area. So, to me this seems to be a great deal. Ford has different discounts for the different styles, so it's difficult to get the discounts you see on the FX models on a Platinum. Dealer holdbacks are sacred animals, and if they come off on them you are going to be fortunate. Holdbacks are used to help dealers with their financing with Ford, and they reduce as the the vehicle sits on the lot. Respectfully, remember the dealer has got to make a profit. Good luck, and if you want a Platinum don't settle for a different model. You won't be happy with anything else.

Yes, I'm quickly figuring the discount game out. Unfortunately not in my favor though lol.

As far as the pricing on the 2013, here are their numbers:

$52,750 MSRP

$48,756 Invoice

-$2,500 rebate
-$1,500 Ranger owner loyalty
-$1,000 finance thru Ford
-$1,553.00 holdback

$42,203.00
+$250.00 for dealer profit

$42,453.00 + TTL

They are claiming to make $250 total profit on the truck.

That's BS, don't forget Ford is giving all the rebate $$'s to the dealer, you will have to sign those amounts over to the dealer as part of the deal. In effect its as if Ford is paying part of your purchase price ...NOT the dealer!! I'm not sure about the holdback amount but all the other amounts are being paid to the dealer by Ford...drives me nuts when a dealer tries to say they are taking less profit when in fact they are getting the rebate dollars from Ford...very deceptive. Ford offers the rebates, not the dealer!!
Sorry for the rant, off the soapbox now...good luck!

Those numbers aren't quite right. Invoice is about $1000 less than that figure.

nice glad to see the numbers out. Don't forget about the doc fee, I would try and keep that around $70 or $75 whatever the pin plan is.

I do love the part where they say, "We'll sell it to you at invoice". They they tack on anywhere from $300 - $700 for the so called "Doc Fees." Now, I'll give you a dealer has to make a profit. That's what their in business to do. But, as the old man says, "Don't **** down my leg, and tell me it's raining." Just tell me it can be sold for $500 over invoice, and I'll buy the vehicle.

X-plan max allowed doc fee is $100.

The local dealer here puts a $99 package on all in-stock vehicles which is some kind of nominal protection plan and nitrogen in the tires, and charges $149 doc fee.

That was my feeling based on edmunds, truecar, and building the truck on ispec.

I'm getting quotes from dealers in the midwest. Hoping for the Ford coupon fairy to send me a $750 voucher because I requested a brochure.

Still not a bad deal even though he's lying through his teeth on the invoice price - give him back his holdback and you are still getting it for under published invoice. With the holdback he's making over a grand on it. If that's the truck you want, I'd buy it. Just don't let him soak you with a big doc fee.

Actually the invoice doesn't appear off. My truck MSRP was 49k and change. Invoice was 45k and change. 2013 Lariat 4x4. They still provide the $750 coupon with the brochure. If you request one they can look it up on the computer if you don't have paper copy I've heard. Couldn't use mine as it isn't valid with A/Z plan purchases. Price is so relative to your geographical location. Yours looks decent. if you wait till the perfect rebate you will often find that truck you wanted is gone! JMHO

If you can get the VIN, you can pull up the window sticker and get the exact configuration - then go to Edmunds.com and get real close to the exact invoice.

UPDATE: Brought home a 2013 Platinum 4x4 in Kodiak Brown metallic tonite. 5.5 ft bed, woman step, max tow, moonroof. Sticker was $53,865. I ended up @ $41,655 after all rebates plus TTL. the $41,665 doesn't account for what I received for my trade.

I qualified for the $1,500 Ranger loyalty, got the $750 private offer in the mail, and $1,000 total in trade assist. Those were in addition to the $2,500 regular cash back from Ford and $1,000 for financing thru Ford Credit. $6,750 in rebates total.

Pics to come once its light out. Thanks for all of the feedback.

The dealership here has that same thing.. But its 600.00. It includes locking lug nuts, nitrogen in tires, and some special coating they put on the windshield so it doesnt chip.

yeah the dealer tried to argue that the rebates took care of the depreciation costs... I was like, uh, the rebates come from ford corporates pocket, not yours. then he was like oh yeah you're right I should have known better than to try to pull one over on a business school grad. lol
