Ford Wheel Well Liner & Splash Guards

Nothing exciting here, just a few pics. You can order these as accessories now and get 'em much cheaper that having them installed after the fact. The wheel well liners look great and really are worth it. Mud guards are just there to do their job, nothing special...

Do they have these for the front? Would be nice if you could get a piece from the front of the wheel well down to the bumper so that road gunk doesn't build up there.

These are both from Ford thru the dealer. Expensive vs the Rugged DIY option, but I wanted it done before I drove off. Tons of crud on the roads as you can see. Liners were $180ish, had a Costco 15% off coupon. Install was about 100.

Looks good, I painted my rear wells with Rustoleum rubberized undercoating too. Cheaper route.

+1 for undercoating spray. Cheap, effective, and blacked out. The liners do help in reducing crud in the bumper, but the areas it touches, and ultimately rub constantly become a new source for rust problems down the road. A trade off if you will.

WOW!! Expensive is right. I would have gone without if I had to pay that much.

Well, I didn't actually say I paid it, just that it would cost that much and a better deal with coupon.

Liners are $114 at Tasca, install takes about 10 minutes each. Really easy. I pulled the wheels for better access, but it could be done without, might actually take 20 minutes each then.

I hate seeing the paint color in the wheel well. Not any more!!!

my question is why are these not on every truck off the line??

Couldn't stand seeing daylight inside the wheel wells, and all the way thru to the other side under the bed. I could also imagine stuff/dirt/rocks getting in there, so I installed the Ford parts. They are a TIGHT fit, and are attached in many places with bolts/fasteners, very securly. I can't imagine them moving at all and causing any rubbing or removal of paint. Seriously.

Thiggins;

I agree completely, I do not see these causing any rubbing issues.

Cost and weight savings. Many drivers don't care about them and won't complain. Some want them and are willing to spend an extra $100 or as we've seen here over $200 to have them installed. When the truck cam out Ford was looking to lighten it up for fuel savings. I'm sure that was an no brainer to take 5-10 lbs off the weight of the truck. I know that's not much, but look at the other stuff the engineered just to save a pound or less.
