sorry if this is a noob question. I googled around to understand what is a leveling kit. But why is one needed in the first place... why would Ford ship the truck with the front a little lower than the back?
Would leveling change the drag coefficient in a material way so as to reduce or increase MPG?
thx.

Reco, the 4x4 comes with stock approx a 1.5 lifting block that raises the rear of the truck for towing and other needs... so the truck leans to the front... Some people add the front leveling kit to equal up the height of the wheel wells... me personally I'm going for both front and rear it's a cheap alternative to a lift kit... I got out of an f250 and into my f150 and it just sits to low all the way around for me... So there's differant reasons on why to install one but overall it's all personal prefferance and altering the truck to look how you want it...

That doesn't look level to me.....not saying it isn't, just doesn't look it. Looks to me it sits nose high a tad, quite possibly due to the larger front fender opening. Which has been documented in the past, I think a 1.5" AS is the perfect kit for a true level "look".
If your gonna go with the 2" I think it needs a bigger block in the back, but NOT a 3".....more like a 2" which is 3/4" taller than stock.
2.5" Front Level and I suggest the 3" block or the RAPTOR 2 5/8" block.
Just my $.02

Thats what I thought after I put it on, measured it on a level concrete floor and there is 1/4in difference at the top of the fender wells between the front and rear...
