Truck Covers Bed Lights

Well I was tired of not having any light in my bed after I installed my tonneau cover so I decided to get myself a birthday present and ordered a set of these bed lights. Installation was very easy. The only problem I had was the jumper harness between the two sets of lights had the ends switched around so the second set wouldn't light up. I just cut the end off and re soldered it and I also cut out the extra wire too. I routed the two wires down one of the bed extender holes, behind the taillights and down to the seven pin connector. They came with a built in push button switch but eventually the plan is to add a second push button switch to turn the lights on as soon as the tailgate is open.

The pictures don't quite do justice of just how much light these put off.

Good idea.

Where did you get the lights from?

I got them from autoanything. The full kit lists for $240. I did find a coupon code at the time I ordered for $30 off.

Try this website. I ordered the double LED kit and installed it to a switch and did not use the mercury style switch it comes with. This way they are not coming on when its daylight or when I have tailgate down while hauling. They are very bright and light my entire bed even when my BedLocker is open. The entire kit was only $55. I highly recommend these lights!

Look good, even though we ended up going slightly different routes thanks for the idea. This is one of those mods even my wife understands.

Thanks for the purchase and compliments Jmeo. Our Lights do offer an override switch so they can be shot off if need be otherwise, the tilt sensor turns them on automatically when you open the tailgate. Thanks again!

Thumbs up

Very cool.

Someday down the road perhaps Ford will offer this an a factory option. But first FMC needs to get over their fear of LED's. Been waiting since 2004 for FMC to get on board with current lighting technology, i.e. LED's, HID's, etc. At this point they're just too frightened, but perhaps time will calm their night sweats about these new technologies.
