Rims Tires Advice 2012

Hey Everyone - looking for some advice and guidence. After scouring the forum for several hours, I think I know the look I am going for, just unsure exactly how to get there and the best way to do so (so any recommendations would be great)

I recently purchased a 2012 Lariat Black on Black with the stock 18" wheels. I am looking for something beefier, specifically the tires..maybe 35"? I don't do a heck of a lot of highway driving and often take it out by the lake, but mostly like the look of it and knowing that ill have that much better traction off road. I am heavily leaning toward picking up a newer set of Raptor wheels (found a set of 4 with 6k miles on the tires for $1500 from a 2012) and thinking i may go that route. Has anyone had any experience with this and would I have any issues with rubbing/clearance if I dont have the truck lifted just yet? If not, whats the minimum lift it would need?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Jeff

Is it a 4wd or 2wd? Some guys are clearing 35s with just a level kit on 4wd, but you have to get the right offset on the wheels. I'm running a 6" lift, 20 x 9 -12mm wheels, 35 x 12.5 tires and I had to do a good bit of trimming up front. That is because my wheels are -12mm offset so they stick out. If you go with a +18mm offset on a 20x9 you will have less rubbing issues.
