Crash at 150 miles.....(Pic Heavy)

This is my third post here. I wish It was not under these sercumstanses. I bought my truck on 8/31. Its a Tuxedo black super cab STX 4X4. On 9/02 I was rear ended. Of all things by another F150 (95) whom was rear ended by a 99 Jetta. I was on my way to pick up my new four wheeler also. Thank God that was not in the back!!! I got a 2010 Kawasaki Brute Force 750 4X4i. Here are some pics. So far the repair is up to $6800.00 I put my truck in the shop on 9/03. I should get it back on or about 10/01.

I have always hated Fords. I would never even consider getting one. I test drove this truck and fell in love. All it took was a spin aroung the block and I was sold. This truck rides and handles better than any truck I have ever driven.

The kicker is I am the Asst. Parts Manager at a Ford and Dodge dealership. I have been at this dealership for almost ten years. Who would have though It would have taken that long for me to like the product. LOL

Thanks in advance. Im sure im going to be bugging the hell out of everyone on here!!

Andy

Man that sucks big time. Did the 95 f150 hit you first than the jetta hit the 95 f150 or did the jetta hit the 95 f150 which than hit you?

Interested to know what happened as well. Like speed and everything. Cause both the trucks seem to have held up pretty good. I know the damage cost is high but I'd take that over being injured.

You pay 2.59 for gas? I feel ripped off......
Glad to see the damage wasn't too bad and good thing your kawi wasn't on the back I can't image the damage that would of caused if it got pushed into the cab. I always worry about that when I haul my bikes with the tailgate down.

Ok, So here is the long story. I didnt want to bore anyone.

We were driving in the fast lane on a four lane divided highway with a median. The speed limit is 55 MPH. There was a Chrysler 300 in the front of us. She was going slow and had her left turn signal on. She had her signal on so early I even asked my wife where she was going to turn because I didn’t see anywhere she could turn. So she turns in one of those crossovers in the center of the highway. Just when we cleared her we were hit twice. The
F150 gave us a nice love tap, then the Jetta SLAMMED into the back of him and he hit us again. Our rear wheels came off the ground they hit us so hard. It was crazy how hard we were hit. The cup holder slid in and broke a large McDonald’s cup from the impact.

Both of the other two drivers where kids, AND they went to school together. The Jetta also just got on the road. It was the second day she had the car.

Believe it or not no one was hurt. Both my wife and I were a little stiff for a few days but not even enough to go to the DR over it. I am not one of those people who are going to roll around on the ground and claim to be hurt.

Both of their insurance companies are still bickering over who is at fault. Thankfully my insurance stepped up and are fixing the truck. Then they are going to go after the other companies.

Damage goes like this:
Right bedside
Tailgate
Both tail lamps
Both tag lamps
Straighten left bedside
Repair cab from where the bed flexed up and hit
Rear bumper
Tow hitch
Step pad
Cab front panel
Clean inside the truck from a soda spill.

So needless to say, this has whole ordeal has sucked.

On top of it all I am still fighting with the place I bought the Brute Force from. They keep getting the wrong rims in that I ordered. Thanks to
Pornstar1969 I gave them the part numbers to order. Hopefully they will be correct this time.

I wish!! That was at the gas station that was three hours from my house!! LOL

Thanks for letting me ramble on....
Andy

Oh yeah, Here is the pic of the guy that towed the other two cars away. LOL

Damn, well it says a lot about how tough our trucks are and its good to hear you're being taken care of by your insurance. Hopefully you're able to walk away from it all ahead financially or something for your troubles, thats just an awful situation.

Best of luck to you

I would push for a whole new bed and tailgate, screw the straightening of the side. Filler problems down the road and you will be alone with no recourse.

Even if it is fixed to brand new condition, your truck has lost several thousand dollars of value. In almost every state you must disclose body repair when it is traded. I am not sue happy, but the responsible party owes you the depreciation that you have suffered. Give their insurance company a chance to man up and then go after them. They should consider themselves lucky that you do not have significant injuries and pay up.

Good thinking!! You know the laws. I already have a diminished value claim in the works!!

I looks like you might have the back up camera option. I hear the replacement tailgates are pretty pricey. Apparently, they get stolen quite often here.

WOW, good thing you were not hurt!

Althought, I think it is kinda funny how that Jetta got dismembered, I mean, the battery is hanging from its cables!!!

No, I wish I had it. I know just the step on the step tailgate is 1046.00.
