New Member: The Rockstar Truck (new pics on page 3)

hey everyone,

Rockstar Energy Drink has decided to add some new eye catching Vehicles to our fleet, and we have chosen the 2009 F-150 as a base model. so far there are 6 of these trucks around the continental US. Look for them at local sporting events & action sports. i thought i'd post up here and give everyone a chance to see what they look like:

detailed specs are as follows:

5.4L V8
Subercab w/ 8ft bed
100% vinyl wrapped w/ paint protective film covering all vinyl
BDS Suspension 6" Lift Kit w/ rear gas shock option
Firestone Ride-Rite Air Ride System w/ on board compressor & single control panel w/ gauge
Line-X Spray on Bed Liner (entire bed, tailgate, and wheel wells)
Cartel Customs Purpose Built Coolers w/ integrated drain valves (holds 500 16oz cans on each side)
Retrax Rolling Tonneau Cover
KMC XD Rockstar 20" Wheels (clever aint it?)
Toyo Open Country M/T 35x12.50R20LT tires
Westin Signature Series Black Step Bars
Custom Rockstar Logo Trailer Hitch Cover

we added some Lamin-X tint film to the tailights to mask the chrome parts which didnt quite match the rest of the truck.

Tails look slick. Might do some lamin-x instead of buying new ones.

the fleet of trucks was purchased from Galpin, however I am located in the northeast - Philadelphia Specifically. as of right now there are 6 of these trucks around the country.

and we do have an office in SoCal, so you might see one of these trucks there, but its not me.

yeah, i looked into buying the tails from the harley davidson edition, but the lamin-x film is simply much more cost effective plus it adds an extra layer of protection to the tailights.

when you applied the Lamin-X did you cut out the red and white parts of the tail lights with a razor blade?

yes, we started by tinting the whole tail light, and then proceeded to carefully cut out the brake and reverse light portions of the tail light. my friend who runs the tint shop that did the work (www.shadesofgraytint.com ) used a special knife that cut the Lamin-x film without cutting into the tail light itself.

yeah, the 3rd brake light AND the head lights are next. im stoppin by my friends shop tomorrow to see about getting them done. its gonna be the same style as the tails since i use this truck frequently at night, and i need the light output, i just dont like seeing all the unnecessary chrome.

I'd like to see some pictures of the headlights when you are done. I've been thinking about doing something with the cornerning lights on mine but leaving the headlights and turn signals alone. That bright orange just looks out of place especially once I smoked the mirror reflector.

So does someone that works for Rockstar do the customizing work, e.g. installing the lift, etc. or do you just send the six trucks to a shop and have someone else do it?

all 6 trucks were modified & assembled by a shop called Drag Cartel Industries / Cartel Customs located in Simi Valley CA. (www.dragcartel.com ) They are actually a honda drag racing team / parts shop, but they also have an alternate business creating custom vehicles. They have in the past created several show cars for Rockstar, including several Scions, and a Barracuda. So when the need arose to create such a project, they were the 1st people we turned to, and their quality of work & care is second to none.

That's a good looking truck. I could go for a Rockstar right now. I'm very thirsty.
