Battery issue maybe help?

Ive got an 2008 stx . Interstate battery I bought less than 2 years ago. Everything has been fine. WEnt out to start to go hunting a few minutes ago and..click click. Battery is dead. Lights are low. Interior light is low. But...when I shut the doors and wait for the interior and bed lights to go out they take a long time. LOnger than usual. These lights fade out normally. So is it because my battery is shot that they take longer to power down or is this a sign of a electrical issue thats causing the battery to drain?

First thing I would do is charge the battery fully, then test it or get it tested.

Buying a new battery doesn't mean it is a good one, they are mass produced and depending on where you got it from, it could've been sitting on the shelf for a substantial amount of time with the plates sulfating. Also Interstate was a good brand until they got bought out buy Johnson Controls a few years back. Now it's hit or miss.

If you have a microprocessor controlled charger, it might tell you it's dead from the go because it won't reach an acceptable float charge.

What voltage is the battery? If it is 12.5, the battery is good and it might be the cable connections.

As others have said, get your battery tested. Also get the charging system tested.

Battery should be around 12.8v and the charging system should be 14v-14.5v depending on the temperature.
