2004 - 2008 F-150

Any Suggestions !! Trying to figure out size of the motor

Any Suggestions !! Trying to figure out size of the motor

A little confused , it's says that trying to figure out the size of the engine is the 8th position in the Vin # , my 8th position number on my Vin is 5 and I still cannot find the size motor that this 2004 f150 fx4 has I do not have the truck it's coming from out of state it was my pops truck any suggestions appreciated

You better hope it's not a 5. For YM 2004 the number 5 in the vin code means it has a 2.0 I4 in it. I doubt that's the case. Most likely, it is an S code which is the supercharged 5.4. Okay now, knock off the happy dance!

Vin "5" is a 5.4 3 valve.

I have a 2004 Lariat. My 8th is a 5 also. I have the 5.4

I know for a fact that there is a boost gauge in the dash

No boost gauge on a 04 FX4.

Only engine available for the 2004 FX4 was the 5.4 3V... 330 cubic inch and 300 hp.with 365 pounds of torque.

Assuming your truck does not have a factory intake, since factory intakes state 5.4 3v or 4.6 Triton on them, you should still have a few federal mandated decals under the hood saying '5.4L group' or the such.

Ok my pops f150 got here today and you guys were dead on it is a 5.4 v8 , but Glc posted that is no boost gauge for 2004 , but I'm sitting in the truck looking right at the boost gauge paperwork states it's a 2004 and vin states it's a 2004 ,, confused again lol

Guess it would be more helpful when I look in the Ford catalog at TRUCKS instead of cars. You have an XLT with a 5.4 V8 making 300HP. The boost gauge makes me wonder if dad didn't put a supercharger on it. Might post a pic of the engine.
