2006 f150 5.4 3 valve shifting wrong.
I thought perhaps there was a connection between needing new plugs and this shifting problem. But still not going through the gears on its own right.
Want to shift into next higher gears way to soon. So soon that it bogs down. I turn the overdrive off and am finding myself going through the gears manually so can get the rpms to the correct point so can shift gears correctly.
Strange also that with the overdrive off, and shifting manually, the overdrive kicks in almost immediately after I shift into each and every gear.
Does not matter if flat, or uphill..
Help ?

You were right about it being electrical..
Turned out to be a speed sensor .. There are three. Two on the tranny, and one on the rear axle..
It was the one on the rear axle..
It was about a 100 dollar part, but learned later that these can be simply cleaned of the metallic build up and put back in..
