I bought a 08 f150 5.4 with 108xxx barely running. When i got it been setting and was missing #2 coil pack so replaced all the plugs and one new coil then a oil change an fuel filter. The passenger catalytic converter was clogged so i fixed that. Now the truck runs good until it gets hot then it runs good as long as you don't rev it up and let it comes down it'll start shacking an knocking. I checked the oil passenger its around 70 cold and 16 hot with 5w20. So i changed it to 15w40 and it came up to around 18 to 20. I wondering what can I replace to get it up or is it the motor. All help will be great thanks

 

You need to basically overhaul your whole VCT system and probably desludge the engine. Hope you got the truck cheap.

 

Do you thing ill have to do pump,phaser,vct solenoid and chain tensioner?

There no misfire's now and when i changed the oil the first time it was 5w20 motorcraft. After i put the real pressure gauge on it an seen it was low is the only reason i tried the 15w40. I was just trying to see if I did all that it would fix it. Didn't want to just start throw all them new part on it an not fix anything. I unplugged the solenoids and it did fine

 

I pulled he front cover and valve covers and nothing broke. everything is stained but its not sludge barely any
