Mine is melted, I've read it's not uncommon. Can't seem to find the part anywhere. Tasca and rockauto both do not list that socket. Anyone have a part # or know where to find even an aftermarket one?

Got some led lights, they work fine in the cargo lights, but since the brake light socket is melted, it won't seem to stay in and won't work.

Found a few threads on this, but none had part numbers listed or where to buy.

I'd honestly rather buy new, as the melting socket is pretty common. Plus, I'm in vermont at the moment and finding nbs f150s is rather hard.

Off topic, but anyone who switched to LEDs notice they stay on dimly when turned off?

 

Spoke with a ford dealer, and of course, they don't even offer just a socket. Only way to get it is with the pigtail which only comes with the entire housing. $109. No thanks.

I think I found one on ebay. I just need to figure out if the socket hole for the PCB is 5/8" or 1/2" unless someone knows off the top of their head?

Anyone have any ideas where to find a socket? Still no luck. Found some marked as "ford 912/921" on eBay, but they don't fit the housing.

I've read many posts about the sockets melting, so it cant be that uncommon.
