Fuel filter clip (2004 LT) broke

Hey guys,

I replaced my fuel filter today. I live in El Paso and so as expected the orange clip on the upstream part of my fuel line cracked when I removed it. I am on the road visiting a contract shop 750 miles from home, so I don't have backup transportation. I saw I can order some online for $7.99/pair, but I don't have that much time.

Now, I was able to gingerly replace the cracked clip and it stuck in place with no leaks. I'm about a mile from home depot and I plan on sticking a hose clamp on the line to ensure it stays in place with no leaks, is there any reason this is a bad idea?

PS- Yes, I plan on getting it properly fixed when I get home.

I think you can find the right clips on the Dorman HELP rack at parts stores, or in stock in the back. I believe the P/N is 800-004 (for Ford 3/8" fuel lines). Give the local Autozone or O'Reillys a try.

Thanks glc. I'll see what I can get locally before I stick anything too redneck on there.
