Yeah, I'm just going stick with MC 5w20.. It's all I've ever used since day one and I don't have the problems others are speaking of. Just thought i might benefit from it. Maybe down the road if i start having issues I'll make the switch.

Thanks.

Royal Purple 5w-30 with a K&N Filter for the last 100k miles. A little ticking at warm up, but that's it. Oil changes at 7500mi with Blackstone Analysis telling me everything is gravy. They actually recommended a 10k mile change next time.

I take mine to the dealership and they put 5W20 Motorcraft Premium Synthetic Blend in it. I have almost 92,000 miles on it now and have not had a single bit of trouble with anything except for the lights in the door switches, which I fixed myself.

I used to do a lot of maintenance myself, but it just seems too much trouble now.

At this point in my life I'm content with doing brake and bearing service on our travel trailer. It seems enough for me.

Castrol 5w-20, stuff's 'bout as thin as water, spilled some last time I changed oil and it didn't even make a stain on the asphalt.
No problems with engine noise, etc.

2005 F-150 5.4 triton FX-4 with 108,000+ miles.

changing it between 3-5k is best other wise the cam phasers start knocking and and eventually fail, if it’s starting to stall while in drive but stopped , your cam phasers are done

Generally I use 5w20 MC blend and filter, but last time I switched to full synthetic oil, maybe 5w30 too. I'd have to look it up. It was on sale, good deal, I think M1?

I know Ford originally said to use 5w20 in our police cars, but then we got letters saying 5w30 was better for them. I know, they are 2V engines, different animals, all that.

2008 5.4L 3V with 113K miles. I am still using MC filter and 5W20 blend and change it every 5K myself. I never received a letter from Ford. I know Makuloco recommends 5W30 too, but I hate to switch since I haven't had any issues.

I have a 2006 5.4L with 224k miles, and I run the Motorcraft oil & filter.
I switched to the 5w30 at Makuloco’s recommendation, and I noticed a reduction in valve train noise.

I have 2009 4.2L V8 and I use 5w-20, those 3.0/3.5 engine require much thicker 5w-30 motor oils. Choosing the brand normally depends on your own situation, I think each brand has their own personality. So I would suggest you to read a good article comprehensive review for the best oil for Ford F150. I personally use Royal Purple 5W-20 because it has increased protection against corrosion since my truck if fairly old already. Even if I pay a little higher for it, my main concern is the engine's long term use.

Talking

All these guys and gals saying they have never had a problem are the same people who say if you hear a rattle or noise turn up the radio. All these engines have the same rattle as well as the know and troublesome manifold leak.
