FX4 or not?

FX4 or not?
How can one tell if his/her 2004 F150 is actually an FX4 or not? Mine has the decal on the side of it, but I've been noticing pictures on some other FX4's interior that have the FX4 emblem on the instrument cluster. Mine doesn't. Is it possible that someone just applied the decal? Or is there something I can actually look at on the truck to verify? I know it came factory with the 18x7.5 alloy wheels. But don't know if that is proof.

looks like a factory fx4 to me (and a damn nice truck as well). being a regular cab, I'm assuming it must have a bench seat and column shift? the fx4s that had column shift didn't have the emblem in the cluster because that is where the gear indicator goes on column shift trucks. don't make them any less of an fx4. it was only on the trucks that had console shift, and therefore had the gear indicator on the console with the stick, freeing the slot up in the cluster

A few clues about FX4's for 2004 to 2008, they all have the 5.4 3v engine, all have black interiors, all have ESOF 4wd with the switch on the dash, and they had a faux carbon fiber trim around the radio and on the door panels. Also, they only came in six colors (seven in 2004 only) which were red, white, blue, black, silver, and gray. In 2004 you could also get yellow. You could also get two tone paint and the lower color was dark shadow gray and all flaresides got the two tone treatment regardless of color, unless you got a dark shadow gray flareside. And finally, the FX4's got their own gauge cluster, which was different than all other trim levels.
Also, on the window sticker it will state if it is an FX4 or not.
Here is my old 07 sticker, if you look at the header at the top in the blue area it tells you exactly what trim level it is.

Leather was an option my 05 and 07 both came with cloth.

Yep it's kinda weird everything black and then gray seats. I test drove a black fx4 flareside that was all decked out with black leather and sun roof. but it had bad cam guides and shot tires and the guy wouldn't budge on price so I walked.

The front coils may differ a bit, but the biggest difference is the FX4 I believe featured firmer valving in the shocks, but say a crew cab FX4 4x4 should have the same coils as a crew cab Lariat 4x4, or XLT 5.4L 4x4 crew cab.. The variance as I understand it in springs is the platform (cab / bed configuration) and engine. They did use different spring rates depending on how heavy the platform was overall so that each sat / rode effectively the same barring the shocks thing...
FWIW, being a reg cab truck, if perchance at some point in the past the coils / struts were changed to super cab, or crew cab struts, it would ride firmer... The shorter wheelbase contributes to a stiffer ride too...
