2006 5.4l 4wd

Just rolled 100k. Owned this truck since 30k. Only things Ive done have been front ball joints, fuel filter transmission fluid change, (85k) and general, regular maintenance.

Other than the plugs, and probably the belt (which looks good) what maintenance should I have the stealership do for my 100k celebration? Keep in mind I have no current issues or repairs needed. Truck runs fine. This is a "what would you do" scenario. I dont have the manual or its suggested maintenance schedule. Thanks in advance.

 

Plugs defintely, should have been done around 60k.

 

Hmm. I took it in at 60k for some small thing and they said fine till 100k. Sunsabitches.

 

plugs are rated 60k-100k, they werent lying. its just easier to replace early plenty of info on here about 5.4L 3V plug changes lol.

Every 15k-20k >>>change fuel filter, clean maf, clean throttle body....

Spark plugs are at 60k not 100k, a Ford tsb addresses this.....

 

Here's what I do....
Engine Management System
• 100,000 Miles Oxygen Sensor Replace
Electronic Fuel Injection System
• Annual Throttle Body & Assembly Inspect, Clean & Lubricate as Necessary
• 6 Months Fuel Injectors Add Redline or BG Brand Fuel Injector Cleaner to Fuel Tank
• 30,000 Miles Fuel Filter Replace

Cooling System
• Annual Anode/Cathodic Protection Inspect
• 5 Years Radiator Drain & Flush System
• 5 Years Hoses Replace
Power Steering
• 5 Years Hoses Inspect & Replace as Necessary
• 30,000 Miles Fluid Drain & Refill
Belts
• 5 Years Serpentine (use mfg tool to assess quality)
Transmission
• 30,000 Miles Automatic Transmission Fluid Drain & Refill
• 30,000 Miles Automatic Transmission Filter Replace as Necessary

Differential
• 30,000 Miles Fluid Drain & Refill
Brakes & Assemblies
• Annual Rotors & Linings Surface Sand, Degrease, Inspect & Replace as Necessary
• 3 Years Fluid- Conventional Type Bleed System

 

Plugs, Radiator hoses and new coolant, differential fluid change, accessory belts, transmission filter and fluid exchange. Inspect shocks for possible replacement.

 

don't replace the belt unless it's fraying. Same thing with hoses. If they look and feel good, they're good. These days they literally last forever. I would do all the other maintenance you neglected. 30k trans, 30k fuel/air filter, 100k t-case atf, rear axle gear oil 100k, coolant 5 yrs or 100k. Plugs 100k.

 

I just recently rolled my 05 over the 100k mark. In fact it now has 101k+ on it. I plan to get the plugs and major fluids changed. Transmission rear diff and coolant possable brake fluid. Truck still runs well with 100k+ on the plugs. Also get about 16.5 MPG highway at about 75 MPH on average.

 

I disagree. What do you mean by "these days"? Rubber is rubber, and after 100K miles it's been through a ton of heat cycles. Hoses get soft and you develop a leak, belts shred quickly when they go, and you may not catch it. It's like waiting for a tire to blow before you decide to change it. It's less than $70 for both of the hoses and belt, takes 20 minutes to change it all, so why not change it and not worry about it for another 100K miles (likely longer than you own the truck)?

 

I changed the plugs on my 4.6 at 101K (currently at 112K), and just replaced the 540 CCA battery with a 750 CCA, and my baby runs better than ever.

 

My f150 4.6l is at 96k. When I her 100k I'll have to check this tread out and do a few things recommended on here!

Flush radiator, Flush power steering, and flush brakes. Change Dif fluid

 

Bingo and thermostat while your in there. Mine went at 70k last summer
