i had a couple that I had to bust some of the ceramic off with a long taper punch that was ground to a chisel point. Blew out the chips with a compressor. There was too much sticking up (out?) to get the tool started.
Without looking, hard to tell what you have, have only done my 8-limited experience.

Confirmed for the third time that it was pushed down all the way. Still no screw. Called Lisle and he said to get a 1/4" hammer drill 8" long. Did that and measured carefully. Nada again. Tomorrow is my last chance.

Here is what I did when I had the similar issue:

5 days to get all 8 out. Cleaned throttle body before first firing it up today. The thing runs like ****. Got codes P0102,P0354,P2106 and P0113. Only had a slight miss before the plug change
My question is this. I put dielecric grease in the coil area where the plug plugs in. Can this cause this much of a mess? Truck misses bad and goes into safe mode.
