The dreaded flappy fuel door problem

Just noticed today when I fueled up that my fuel door has no more tension on it. What all do I need to fix this?

You need the new housing, as seen in the how-to, because the little spring comes off. When mine broke, I decided to get a billet fuel door that locks so that it would look better and protect my gas. Although I didn't technically fix it, the lock on the billet door keeps it held shut.

That might be a better idea, but only if I can find a painted black one made for a flareside.

If you find one post a link, I haven't been able to. My door broke about a month ago so I've been looking into this as well

I called the local Ford dealer and they can get a new housing for $48, but I forgot to ask how much installation would cost. I'll probably end up going down that route.
