Truck won't go into gear. HELP! (Video inside)

I just noticed this today after starting up my truck that the gear shifter just slides through the gears, not stopping and engaging like it should. I have a 2004 4x4 Lariat Supercrew.
Yesterday when driving I was doing 75 and moved it into 2nd gear, the rpm's immediately shot up ( I didn't notice how high) so I immediately moved it back to Drive. I drove my truck for a while after that, putting it in park, drive and reverse several times with no problems, but today it won't engage in any gear.

Heres a video. Maybe you guys know what the problem is.

crawl under and the linkage is probably disconnected where it connects to the trans.

Do your brake lights work? The shifter will not work if the brake lights dont.

My money is on the dis-connection answer from 'Need4racin'...this problem has nothing to do with the actuator or the brake lamp switch. If the linkage is not disconnected, then there is a Trans. problem.
