Send it or spend it. Totaled FX4 S.Crew. w/pics
So I just got it paid off in April this year. Was really starting to focus on building it into a semi-prerunner. I say semi cause I drive it everyday and there's very little desert around here in Kansas. So it still needs to be streetable and useful.
Insurance adjuster says some frame damage and would most likely replace the frame. So the cost shoots way up and most likely she's totaled. Anyway I'd like some opinions whether to send it to the junker or spend the money to buy back and customize.

hi there the first thing you should do is remove the rh fender before you door gets bent on the lip.The next thing to do is straighten steering wheel and see whats bent on rh side in the steering and suspenshion, after that with the hood closed take a picture looking over the hood, your looking at top lh fender gap i suspect a little sway to the left. Next lay under the truck on your back and take picture of the front frame rails, also look behind rh wheel and compare frame form one side to the other. From the pics you posted so far i would buy back i have seen alot worse.I have worked for over 5 years for a guy that buys salvage vehicles{all fords} and i rebuild them.

On the frame, select corresponding holes in left and rigfht frame rails at front, center, rear .... and take 6 washers and 6 pieces of string and hang a washer from each hole. Then look from ends. That'll give some indication if frames bent or how bad.

Hard to believe that thing is totaled......
If it is, I'd only buy back the truck if your intent was to make it a true "offroad" vehicle, as a frame that was slightly out of alignment wouldn't be that big of a deal on a truck that was not going to be driven day-in-and-day-out on the street.....

Air,
Glad you are ok. Makes me sad to see any F-150 messed up like that but hopefully you can get a new ride out of it...be sure to put pics up when you do
Btw, what are your plans for your emblems, if the truck is totaled? Been thinking of painting some black and putting DSG inlays in them. Lemme know if you decide to get rid of them...

id buy it back, especially if you want a semi prerunner, good excuse for a 1 piece front end, and then have the frame straightened...if needed, looks like it is just the front frame horn that might be bent, if thats the case you would probably cut it off for a better approach angle and prerunner bumper
