05 f150 fx4 manual transmission

Does anyone know if there is an aftermarket manual transmission for the 5.4L F150, or a ford transmission that can be put in? I know it will be some work!!

there is a complete kit called the f-250... :P

I would have preferred a manual myself, but it isn't realistic.

I've got a manual F150... and boy do I love it. Not going thru brakes, saving fuel, annoying the heck out of people by suddenly slowing down without the use of brakes. Plus when I shift, I do it so slowly, like people have to slam on their brakes so they don't rear end me when driving their automatic. Plus I like resting my feet at stop lights... but it's even better when I'm on a hill and I let my truck slip back a foot or two, and people behind me get antsy. I also love engine braking down long hills, while 10 cars are behind me riding their brakes. It's just so much more fun, at least for me... because when you are beind me, you are at my mercy of going slowwww.

It's never a dull moment driving my truck.

That's the most anti-social behaviour I've ever heard about driving.
You got problems.

Congrats, loser.

I didn't mention the v6 option, cause a full size truck with a v6 is as useless as **** on a bull... sounds right up your alley.

I have a V6 manual and I wouldn't call it useless at all. Does everything I need it to do. Tows a 6000# trailer with no problems at all.

Anyway, about the 5.4 with a manual, I saw one on eBay with in the last year. Looked awesome. Obviously would take a lot of work though. Unless you're made out of money, I'd say it probably work happen. You could use the super duty transmission as they offered 5.4 V8s with a manual up until a couple years ago.

You could probably put a ZF out of a gas Super Duty in, but you would need a body lift or a BIG hole in the floor. A M5OD from a 4.6 4x4 OBS would bolt up, but not last. Either way there are going to be electronic issues, the PCM is gonna be pretty confused when it can't see a transmission.

Not worth the trouble. Possible, sure, lots of swapping, fabricating, designing, software writing and testing blah blah blah... So yeah it's POSSIBLE, but do you have the expertise and resources to go through all of that just to manually shift your truck?
