BFG AT TA KO's & General Grabber AT2's backordered....

Well, as the title states, the top 2 tire choices of mine are currently on backorder, with no ETA available. I would like to have a new set on before the snow flies.

I am now currently looking at Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10's or Firestone Destination AT's. Anyone got any feedback on how these tires might perform in snow? They are running approx. the same price in my area.

275/65/18 is what I'm going with. Not interested in going bigger. I like the stock rake in these trucks.

Wear performance as well would be appreciated.

Posted here to hopefully see more traffic.

Edit: About the only off-road driving I do is on a frozen lake with a lot of snow on it, so if you guys have any other options to throw out there, feel free, but am looking for specifics on the RF10's and Destinations.

Mr. eXtreme is running the RF10's in different size than your looking at, but maybe he'll chime in and give you some feedback on them.

OP,

Try rimzoneonline.com; they usually have a lot of tires that are backordered that they can ship to you depending on what size you are looking for.

If you were considering the BFG's, then price was obviously not a major factor. I would suggest giving the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ's a look.

They're are absolutely awesome and perform phenomenally!

They have a size which is just an inch taller than the OEM size you were looking for (a 33" vs a 32"):

LT275/70R18 33X11.50R18

I have them in the 305/55-20 size and love them.

They are backordered everywhere? Or from the manufacturer? I am very happy with my BFG ATs.

I LOVE my Hankook Dynapro ATM RF10's...

You name it there great in it... Rain, Snow, Ice, Sand, Dirt, Mud, Grass, Highway etc...

Real nice tread pattern... Quite ride but great grip off road... I've put a good 20,000 miles on them and there still in great shape. There wearing WAY better then any BFG I've had before.

I have the Firestones A/T's on my F150 right now and I know alot of guys running the ATM's on the 3/4 tons in the oil field and getting good life out of them, cause they put alot of miles on in crappy roads and seem to hold up better than the A/T's, but I think my firestones do alittle better in the the loose snow then the ATM's. The only time ive been stuck ice fishing is when I high center. Either of them is a great choice. Just to throw another good tire out there the Cooper ST's.

Best tires I've ever owned. Put almost 80,000 miles on them. I've driven them through everything you could imagine, and they always pulled through. Possibly one of the best tires I've ever driven with in snow.

I have heard good about the Goodyears.

But here's me putting the Hankooks to the test...

That was some heavy deep snow and out towards the middle I was a little spooked I was going to end up stuck because I started plowing snow but they got me threw it!!!

Seriously...LOL.

I too live in IL and have driven through MUCH, MUCH deeper snow than that. If that's put'n those Hankooks "to the test", then I too would be worried in the really deep stuff or worse a HUGE drift.

I drove through a drift which was deep enough to pack my fog lights completely. Just kept the RPMs up while going through it. The Mickey Thompsons never hesitated. They're a bit more $$, but no more than the BFG's.

I have Destination AT tires. I wanted to go with BFGs, but when in the process of shopping for tires, it was apparent that the Firestone's were significantly less $ for an equally agressive looking / quality tire. Not sure on the Hankooks, but my 32" Firestones are among the best tires I've ever had on a vehicle.

I've read quite a lot of positive reviews of the Firestone, with particular note to how quiet they were. AT's are a bit loud, too me anyway. As much as I love my ATZ's I may move away from such an aggressive tire the next time around, but these Mickey's don't seem to be wearing very quickly, and with only 28K on my 06, I may have them for a while.......
