2wd hubs and rotors

All 4 rotors were warped at 30K service. They've been turned and are warping again <2 months of city driving.

This hub mod seems like the way to go. I hope I can find the kits in stock when I'm ready pull the trigger. If not, I'll be forced to go with the combo hub/rotor from a name brand that I can find locally.

I never would've known about the mod as well as all of the problems that everyone else is having w/ rotors/brakes. I think back to previous trucks that I've had... two F-150s and a full size Bronco... they all had similar brake issues.

Great forum!

Thanks to all who contribute.

My stock rotors are warped and grooved. The Dealership pad slapped me out the door. If I install this Kit (120.65128) and lets say one of the bearings goes out. Can you easily find replacement bearings for it? Will you have to press them in & out?

Hub only

This is from the rock auto site for a 2006. It looks like they have the upgraded hubs. I'm not sure about the bearing. Someone mentioned a shortage, so I'd do a stock check before buying.

CENTRIC Part # 12465902
RWD; 6 Lug; AFTER UPGRADE; Base Payload Pkg; Hub Only; Front

* Non-stock item--shipping delayed up to 2 business days
$85.79

Some other posts say the bearing is either unavailable or pricey.

I'm hesitant to buy the kit, but plenty of folks swear by it. It's "one stop shopping."

Pulled the "trigger"

'Ordered the front 4x2 upgrade kits w/ the Centric Premium rotors and TQ-semis all the way around.

Now, we'll see if the stuff shows up for the long weekend.

Installed Centric 4x2 hub mod, premium rotors all the way around, and TQs a week ago. Did the "bedding" runs, and have taken it easy on the brakes. So far, so good. I notice myself really paying attention while braking and it's nice not having the "shakes" anymore.

Next project... broken drop-down bin, grill emblem, rear seat rattle, and odo back light. Maybe I'll catch up someday.

Install is fairly easy. Take off wheels, take off calipers, remove rotors, remove center nut with a huge socket (I believe it was 36mm), slide off old hub, and reverse. You'll need to torque that center-nut to 300 lbs. (gorilla spec).

I just used these same Centric hubs on my brothers 4x2, but I used the Baer +1 15" rotors (for 4wd trucks) and caliper relocation kit (instead of Centric Rotors or Baer +1 rotors for 2wd). Baer has been using this same exact setup for some time, now. The 2WD Bear +1 15" rotor kit is a two-piece design as well.

I have a 2005 Supercrew 4x2 with 7-LUG wheels.
My truck is shaking while braking during high speeds.

I already replaced my rear rotors but Ive been told by mechanics and Advance auto that I will need replace the whole hub assembly for the front rotors. IS THIS CORRECT?

If so, are there 7-LUG Upgrade Kits?
I cant seem to find any on rockauto.com and I would hate to have spend extra money on a problem that may happen again years later.

is that 36mm nut re-usable? i never re-use axle nuts but that's kinda different since there's obviously no axle.
thanks for the explanation, sounds pretty manageable
