Trans shudder downshifting from OD to 3rd

Hey everyone did some searching and it seems as if most of this problem is happening in the pre 2000's

I have a 2007 and the Transmission shudders/vibrates, when cruising on the highway around 70, when you lightly hit the gas to get it out of OD and downshift to 3rd.

So downshift from OD to 3rd upon slight throttal it shudders/vibrates

Any ideas?? It's going into the stealership on Monday

Describe the shudder. Is it a violent shake, or just a delayed shift?

Don't forget, the tranny must first unlock the torque converter and then shift down into third, and it does take a bit of time and can feel like a small shift followed by the bigger shift into gear when it starts adding power.

I've had that on my 2004 - 5.4L truck for as long as I can remember and I am at 95K miles now. I've never been able to find an answer, although I haven't been on this forum in a while. Hopefully someone will help us out!

I had my torque converter replaced at 57K. At 45mph, trans in OD, when I accelerated moderately to 50 mph, the transmission would shudder sometimes not all the time. Took it to dealer and they replaced under warranty. Last month it started doing it again but not that bad yet, 66K. I believe the TC is still under warranty (1 year or 12K) so I plan on taking it to dealer next week. I think it is odd for a TC to go out at 57K and another at 9K. I tow occasionly but I'm very easy on the truck.

Turn off OD when you tow unless its a very lightweight trailer.

Yea good thing I got the extended warranty or I would be paying for it I only have 43000 on it and I will admit I drive the truck somewhat hard don't tow a lot.

Truck should be done 2mar and do you think they changed the trans fluid haha because I was going to do it at 50 anyway so now it would be free bwahah
