driver side window not working

well today my driver side window in my 06 super cab finally took a crap on me. It barely started showing signs of any issues at all....maby at random times it would be rolling up then stop but Id just rehit the button and it would go up no problem....all other windows work fine without ANY issue. I dont think its the main control housing but I could be wrong. any problems of fixes? thanks everyone

search for window regulator posts... you probably will need to put in a new regulator/motor assembly.

Do a search on the board. I believe it was JackandJanet that wrote an article on cleaning the switches (and fixing the LED). My passenger side one was only working intermittently, so I took it apart and found a carbon build up on the contacts. After cleaning it up, it works much better. I didn't have the skills to resolder the LED's, so they don't light up, but it still rolls the window up/down.

Mines beginning to lag. When its all the way down, it just kind of creeps up then when its about 1/4 of the way up, it raises at a normal speed. Just started happening. Something tells me its the window rubbing against something with my issue.

Just wait, I can almost garante its your button. Mine was doing the same thing. then just one day the button froze. froze to the point of no matter how hard you press on it it doesnt go down. I am going to replace the actual switch module in the door and see what happens. I would bet it is that before the regulator.

FINALLY A SOLUTION! ok so I checked out the thread (cant remember the name) about cleaning the switches and replacing leds and I removed the problem switch cover (side that has the up and down arrows) and then removed the rubber sealing piece and looked in and noticed a small amout of dust/dirt. I took some low pressure air (you could prob just blow in there hard) and worked it around a little bit and then re-assembled. works just fine. hasn't froze up on me at all since and I tested it out about 20 times up and down. Im not too sure if my problem was the same as some of you guys because I never had to press down very hard to get it to work, it just wouldn't roll all the way sometimes without stopping and having to repress. give it a try though. a lot cheaper fix than a 60 dollar switch. good luck

Like I suggested above, search for it. I even offered up the author's name. Look what a 5 second search for "power" and author "JackandJanet" turned up:

Reparing Lighted Switches

The search button is conveniently labelled "Search" with a little down arrow beside it, at the top of the forum, in case you were looking.
