Don't be so quick to drop a dime. Almost any autoparts store will do OBD code download and clearing for free so don't pay a dealer to do this. The reader will tell you what is the problem. Then go to rockauto.com and save big over all the dealers and local autoparts stores.
X4 on that. I have a good friend and great mechanic at Tire Kingdom that is going to scan it for me. Once we do that I will disconnect the battery, clear the codes, clean the terminals and see if it happens again.
OBDII Trouble codes were: 2104 and 2111. TAC System shut down or something to that effect. Looking them up now. Hasn't done it again. Gonna do the battery terminal cleaning first and see what happens.
P2104 - Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System - Forced Idle
P2112 - Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) System - Stuck Closed.
P2104 was set because the pcm had to step in to set the idle. The TAC system is in the failure mode effects management (FMEM) mode of forced idle. P2104 is just an informative code, set because of P2112. P2112 possible causes: Binding throttle body
, stuck closed or
Damaged PCM
tell your dealer technician to follow pinpoint test DV1 in the workshop manual. (but also to reference test QE1) DV1 deals with him/her checking the throttle position voltages, if these voltages are not within spec, proceeding with checking for obstructions in the throttle body, then if this passes, he/she checks the wiring to the TAC assembly. there are many steps in this test and since the truck isnt here i can't tell you where the test will go (throttle body assembly, PCM, etc.) most likely it will be the throttle position sensor which is a part of the throttle body assembly or a simple connector coming unplugged or wiring being cut, but once again since i dont have the truck in front of me i can't be 100% sure. good luck. hope this helps.
And 2111: P2111 PCM indicates the throttle plate is at a greater angle then commanded, Possible causes:
Binding in the Throttle Body, Stuck open,
TAC Motor circuit are cross wired
TAC Motor harness circuits are shorted together
Damaged PCM unit.
I suspected a throttle body issue, but wasn't for sure. A few members have had issues with them. Sometimes it's just a quirk, sometimes members have had to change them.
The wrench light is your check engine light for you guys ignoring it
Sorry wrong. The wrench indicates that the PCM has gone into "limp home mode". The engine shaped light is your CEL for all general detected engine faults and codes, if this light is blinking then it indicates an engine misfire.

Either way, it was an issue and now I have a starting point. Hasn't done it again, but am still going to clean battery terminals and take the plastic cover off top of motor and take a peek. Thnx for all the help everyone!
