I really like all the storage in the dash, and the interior seems to be pretty well thought out. Although the only thing that I like on the exterior is the color, the body lines just don't do it for me. Thats just my $0.02.
Honestly, been showing off the Dodge to my Ford friends and they are struck on how nice it really is (and a few are like me in that they feel the new Dodge lines are much better than the new F150's), but to each their own.
It's actually quite refined overall!! The chrome and accents are just in the right places, the interior is perfect, and the bed (along with the features) and side profiles are top notch. I just wish they would refine the front end a little more and not have that classic "snorty mouth" look they've been doing since the early 90's.
As far as it looking better than the new F150, I'd say the tailgate is better on the Ram, but the nose is better on the F-150. And that's even considering the new F-150 snout is fugly. Really fugly.
There's got to be a way to get the Ram a nose job. I feel like I'm looking at Barbera Streisand. Beautiful voice but for God's sake, the surgeon is your friend!
I just have to say that this is the first 6.7L that I have heard of that actually gets good mileage. Last fall my father was looking at a 09 3500 Ram, 4X4, DRW, quad cab, 6.7 Cummins, laramie. The dealer let him take the truck a a couple days, it was a dealer demo, and according to the computer is was only getting 12mpg on the highway and 10 mpg in the city. Granted it had more power than his 6.0L PSD but the mileage was just horrible. He also talked with a couple guys that had the 6.7L and that was about all that they were seeing for mileage also. Dad figured he could live with the lower mpg, but then the dealer was only going to give him $15K for his 05 F350 6.0L PSD, FX4, SC, DRW, XLT with 3X,XXX miles. He just laughed at them and walked away.
Hey Desert Dawg, post some pics! I want to see the new truck.
A few of my other buddies are getting around 16-18mpg and they flog their trucks. Yet granted they have a exhaust and intake though which helps a ton with no regen.

Thanks everyone....I really am enjoying it. I didn't like the Ram Box either at first, but the more I thought about it, the more I liked the idea. Now that I the boxes loaded up with tow gear, tools, camping gear, and such I really like them.

OMG...that's funny! Well, like I said, some folks like the Ford snout, some don't (I personally don't like the lower headlight design but I know why they did it), and some folks like the Ram front and some don't. I must be one of those rare straight guys that like Barbara Streisand....lol. (please don't make that joke worse than it is).
DD, I made the switch too. Keep an eye on your seat leather, some have had problems with it stretching due to the perforations for the vented seats. Probably see you over at the other joints. I stop back here now and then, it's not like I've suddenly forgotten all the info I've built up since having an early build 2004 f150. I had midsize chevys before my f150, now my ram. They all make good trucks, they all make lemons too. I'm not a brand loyal kind of guy; I get what suits my needs and likes the best at the time. I loved my f150, but I'm certainly not gonna say it didn't have problems, nor will I say that the ram is a perfect truck. A hemi-like motor in a 04-08 f150 body with a 6 speed tranny, I never would have left. 6 speed tranny in the ram, they would have had the slam dunk IMO.
My dinky little 7600 tow rating is way beyond what I ever need, if I needed more, I personally wouldn't be in an f150 either. Used to be you'd get a half ton truck because it was much friendlier as a daily driver and you didn't need the capacity. Ford is getting away from that, trending towards merging the 150 and 250 together. Dodge is going back to it, and for most of the truck buyers out there, a 'traditional' half ton is more truck than they will ever need.
Most guys here, it ain't for you. For me, it was.

I like 'em. The only thing I don't care for is the integrated toolbox in the bed. It doesn't flow with the body. I would like to see the 2500's in extended cab 4wd. What am I talking about...I just got my 150 the way I like it. I still like to look though. I sure hope your payments don't reflect depreciation. WOW. Upside down sucks.
Thanks again guys....appreciate the feedback including the ribbing. I have to agree that the Ram box takes a bit getting used to. I actually don't mind the look on darker colors like red, black, blue, etc. but not as much on lighter colors like the yellow, white, or silver as the lines of the box seem more noticeable to me. But now that I am using the boxes, I really love them

Hey inbred....good to hear I am not the only one. I am the same way as I buy what suits me at the time. Sometimes that might be a sports car or something really high end, or something very specialized, or lately various full sized trucks. And I like trying out all brands too and usually buy American except for the occasional BMW, VW, or Land Rover, but it's all good. I used to drive grey market European spec'd Ferraris (including a Dino), Porsches, and such so had my fill of those too. I have had more Ford trucks than anything but also had my share of Jeeps (from 1969 Wagoneers to modern day Wranglers), Chevys (had various Tahoes including a few 2-door versions that I absolutely loved) and Dodges too. If I had to boil them all down to my all time favorites, it would be my Corvettes and Ford trucks (although my '71 Mach 1 rates in there too).
I agree with your assessment about the original purpose of the 1/2 tons being more about light duty and personal use versus the heavy duty trucks. The whole "who tows the most" is a byproduct of typical American culture that "more is better" and everyone vying for bragging rights. With the F150 capabilities increasing each year, does make you wonder when the F250 becomes redundant and the jump goes right up to the F350 and F450 for non-commercial consumers. Anyway, I went to the Dodge because if really does match up with my personal needs (ride, comfort, acceleration, minor towing and hauling, etc.). I know my needs and taste will change in awhile so may be back to Ford's latest offering when I am ready, Cheers!
