Well, the Dodge I bought is still only a half ton and was comparing it against the other full sized half tons like the F150 or GMC 1500 since I don't need a heavy duty anymore. My mileage on the Ram has been pretty good considering. When I am not hot rodding it, I get 14 mpg in the City (no Highway numbers yet), but that quickly drops to 12 mpg when I act stupid. The F250 seemed to always get around 10 mpg no matter how I drove it in the City. I have no idea how the current generation Dodge 2500 HDs are doing with the Cummins as far as mileage is concerned.

I didn't need another 3/4 ton so that is why I didn't go back to the F250. Even so, Dodge is coming out with the new design on their 2500s with the Cummins. I had a current gen Ram 2500 HD to drive today as a loaner vehicle while they prepped by Ram, and I have to say that Cummins is a screamer compared to the 1-2 second delay of the F250 (before both turbos spooled up).

All said and done, I still think the F250 is one of the best looking modern day trucks out there; I loved the interior of the FX4 (mine was Stone with the black leather), and for sure it has to be the best built truck as well, so I probably would have gone back to the F250 like the one I had if I really needed one again.

I still think that 250 you had was bad as hell. Good luck with your new truck though.

A laramie is the equivalent to the lariat ford package. Basically the nicest package offered by dodge.

The new Dodges with the 6.7 are a huge improvemnt in power compared to the 5.9. My borhter has one and stock was wow. now with a few mods it is like WOW and gets 20mpg with 35's. Congrats again on the new truck Desert and please let me know how it holds up. As I am strongly looking at getting a dodge for a second vehicle with all the rebates they are offering.

I just have to say that this is the first 6.7L that I have heard of that actually gets good mileage. Last fall my father was looking at a 09 3500 Ram, 4X4, DRW, quad cab, 6.7 Cummins, laramie. The dealer let him take the truck a a couple days, it was a dealer demo, and according to the computer is was only getting 12mpg on the highway and 10 mpg in the city. Granted it had more power than his 6.0L PSD but the mileage was just horrible. He also talked with a couple guys that had the 6.7L and that was about all that they were seeing for mileage also. Dad figured he could live with the lower mpg, but then the dealer was only going to give him $15K for his 05 F350 6.0L PSD, FX4, SC, DRW, XLT with 3X,XXX miles. He just laughed at them and walked away.

Hey Desert Dawg, post some pics! I want to see the new truck.

Enjoy the Dodge.

Now that you dont have the F150 anymore, I wont feel as bad if I get the same rims you had for my truck.

Thanks again for the well wishers! For those of you who asked, here's a few picks of my new Dodge (before mods since my lift and wheels/tires won't in until next week):

What's funny is you know I am still a Ford guy since I posted my first pics on a Ford forum before I even announced anything over on the Dodge forum. Guess it'll take time for me to adjust...lol.

Now that's bad because I consider the Tundra really fugly...lol.

Honestly, been showing off the Dodge to my Ford friends and they are struck on how nice it really is (and a few are like me in that they feel the new Dodge lines are much better than the new F150's), but to each their own.

Wow, nice truck! I'm not really diggin' the toolboxes in the bed. I didn't realize how low they came down on the sides of the bed.

I guess you'll be taking her to a Fiat dealership for repairs, when needed.

Well overall nice truck...the interior looks real nice and the side view looks pretty sharp. I am not liking the tool boxes to much. But nice color, have fun with the new ride.

WOW, interior looks really nice, big improvement over the years before.

Not to sure on the shifter through....I had a rental that was set up like that and always had to look at it to get it into the right spot with out getting hug up.

Looks like the ignition is on the dash?

Have fun lifting it!

not too shabby, never been a fan of 2 tone, but that's just preference. it's too bad that dodge won't let you get the electric blue pearl in the 1500 series, that color is pure sex
