I noticed just this weekend that mine has shrunk or something and no longer snaps together in the center. I messed with it for over a half an hour after taking it loose trying to get it to stay in the center. Every time that I got it together and put the christmas trees back in it, it would pop apart again.

I just took a self tapping screw and screwed the cowl to the cab, just underneath the hood.
If you look there is a flat spot where the cowl goes under the hood when its shut, so i screwed it down there, it still pops up a little towards the windshield, but i can live with that.

Be sure to use a SS screw in order not to have to deal with a rust spot

Ford has a TSB out on this. 08-25-5, and 07-24-5

They're aware of this...

Technical Service Bulletin

The one for this addresses 2004 - 2008 F-150's and 2006-2008 Mark LT Pick-up's. It addresses Seating the Cowl Panel and Adjusting the Flange if necessary.

I have it in PDF but am not able to post it...

What is the TSB number? I did a lookup and couldn't find anything on this.

The guys that designed some of this stuff and spec'd out the plastics on these trucks need to be kicked square in the ball sacks.. and designing stuff out of plastic for the automotive and heavy duty industries is what I do for a living.

I thought that mine was fine until I had the windshield replaced a couple of weeks ago but now it won't stay together for love nor money. I don't know if the plastic had shrunk and the replacement was the final straw or if it was that way already and I just hadn't noticed it.
