05 Interior bulb question

I have a 07 Screw but a buddy of mine has an 05 scab. On the inside of his truck in the rear what size is that one bulb? On mine its a 42mm festoon. Also what size is the front reading lights? ( I think its a 194) I would like to know this information so that I can order him some LED's like I have for my truck. Thanks

According to this:

http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...lacementGuide/

It's a 906 like on my '07

Here is what I have:

They don't have the white in stock right now - but they will have them soon!

For my truck I got them from superbrightleds and I love em'. I also love their customer service. I'm going to get my buddies from there but I just wanted to make sure that the 05 (Scab) bulb sizes are the same as the 07 (Screw) which I'm pretty sure they are.

Here is my break down in my truck

Front Interior lights (194's)
License Plate (194)
Rear Interior Lights (middle) (42mm Festoon)
Sides (194)
Third Brake light sides (921)

If you would like to know which bulbs I exactly have in my truck let me know and I will post them.

I have the Putco Premium Interior light kit. Specific applications all in one. Little pricey but sweet

No problem. I will post them tomorrow or Wed b/c I'm going out of town tonight. It took me a long time and wasting money to figure out what looks really nice. I will post pics but here is that you will need. This information is for Screws but can be used for Scab or cabs.

Start here

License Plate (this will give you that nice white Lexus GS license plate look)

On Page 1

WLED-xHP High Power LED bulb (2) Pure White $4.95 each

Front Interior Lights (map)

On Page 1

WLED-x4 LED bulb (2) White $1.59 each Plus $1.00 b/c their white

Rear Interior Lights Side (side of middle) (Dome)

On Page 1

WLED-x4 LED bulb (2) White $1.59 each Plus $1.00 b/c their white

Rear Interior Light Middle (Dome)

On Page 2

High Power 3-LED Festoon bulb (1) $7.95 cool white (42mm Festoon)

I've had these for over a year and love them. I tried doing my third brake light sides but I had some issues with it. The size would be a 921 if you like to give it a shot. i think the 194's will fit in there as well. I just gave up but now that I have to order for a friend of mine I may give something else a try. Enjoy.

Would it make any sense at all to go with the 6 LED version?

High Power 6-LED Festoon bulb

Also, one more thing...

Unless I'm totally missing the boat, the 2005 only has ONE light for the dome -- one 42mm festoon -- and has no 'side' bulbs (like rear reading lamps (I had never noticed this previously -- I thought that they were there!)). I'm going to go with the 6-LED High Power Version for the dome.

So, my order looks like this:

2 - WLED-xHP High Power LED bulb (plate illumination)
2 - WLED -x4 LED Bulb (Front Map lights)
1 - High Power 6 LED Festoon (42mm)(Dome Light)
2 - High Power 2 LED Festoon (30mm) (King Ranch Side View Mirror Puddle Lamps)
2 - 921-x12 Wedge Base LED Lamp (3rd Brake Light)

Thoughts?

Instead of trying to replace the bulbs in the third brake light - I went with a complete LED third brake light assembly. This model has LED for the brake and cargo lights all the way across. Very bright and very cool

Sounds good, I would give it a try but also order the 3 led 42mm festoon just to be on the safe side. Let me know if you like them or not. I dont have side view mirror puddle lights so I wouldnt be able to help you here. I tried the 921-x12 wedge base LED's and they worked for a couple of weeks then one started flashing then it went out. The other side did the same thing so I just gave up. The 921's look decent though. I noticed that my boy (who has an 05 scab) only has a rear dome with no sides but I thought that is was just the scab, thats why I started this thread, lol. I'm going to order his on Thursday.

I have the 3rd brake light from Hella with the tails but the 3rd brake light is an LED for the brakes but not the sides (bed lights)

Yeah... that's the thing though... I already have a LED 3rd but, it has regular bulbs for the side lights. I'll give the LED 'look' a try (these things just aren't very functional for me as bed lights as I have an ARE lid on the truck -- in short, it's a 'looks only' mod).

Ahhh... I see. It's definitely just a dome in there -- one festoon.

I went ahead and went with the 6 LED version and didn't order the 3. Hopefully it'll work. *shrugs* If not, I'll order the 3 later on (and pay shipping again).

Any chance that it'd burn too hot and melt some plastic? I hope not...

On the puddles, we're actually working on that over in the KR forum... there are a couple of guys that have FINALLY located the dang light module thing for the puddle lamps so, if I pop it out of there and break it, I can replace it. I wasn't going to do it until we found the PN (which was a beast to find).

Hmm... you have me a tad worried on the 912 x12 bulb now... I'll give it a go, maybe it'll work out. Who knows? It's worth a 'go'.

Ordered it last night around 11pm, got an email about 10 minutes ago telling me that it had shipped. I think I'll have a weekend project considering that they're in St. Louis!
