Baby seat in a Screw
#16
hey I just went out and looked at my truck and I was right in the first place. I really do have six isofix latch bars. two for each of the three seat positions in the back. I have a new body style (P221) supercrew 2004. there are only those plastic indicator buttons above the larch bars on the outside two seats but the center rear seat has its own set of latch fix bars. go look at yours....
it might be a 2004 only thing. because the 2005 and 2006 Screw I've been in only have the 2 latches

I have 4 latches on the '05. I used the two inner latches and placed the seat in the middle.
We have a BRITAX seat that's enormous, so it fits perfectly. To prevent rub, I just put down a matching bath towel and it's proven easy on the leather without any rubbing or squeaking sounds.
The one on the way will force us to move our little guy behind the driver.

Couple things:
If you only have 2 sets of LATCH connections, you cannot use the innermost on either and put a child seat in the middle. That is not what they were designed for and it is clearly stated in the manual. Using this method will not properly protect your child in the event of a crash.
Using the LATCH system and a shoulder seat belt in conjunction with each other is also not correct. The seats are designed to use one system and one system only - each car seat manual will more than likely state that fact. In fact, if you are using the shoulder belt, most car seats want you to remove the LATCH belt from the seat.
If you are using the middle, make sure the rear anchor strap goes through the safety loop and over to one of the solid anchors behind each outside headrest.
I'm a pretty **** parent when it comes to car seats, so I have done a lot of reading.
The most important thing is to completely follow the directions from not only your car seat manual, but the manual of your vehicle. Each car/truck is different, so don't just assume.

is there a center anchor for the top strap? it sounds like you thread it through a loop and then snake it to one of the side top anchors
