Chromed my Tow Hooks

I decided to have my tow hooks chrome plated, so I found a local shop and had them done. They charged me 60 bucks for both.

Here are the pics...

I like them but why not paint them blue to match?

I put chrome aftermarkets on mine.

Are those actually functional (As strong as OEM)? If so, where did you get them.

IMO they look better with a chrome bumper, but they are sharp none-the-less.

And whitecrystal, yours a billet cut units arent they? they are also very good looking.

Doesn't chrome plating weaken metal?

I like the look of it a lot, and it would look nice on my truck with the chrome bumper, but I wouldn't want to do it if it weakens them.

I don't know if they are weakened or not. I'm not worried, if I break one, they are only 16 dollars for a new one.

I wouldnt be worried about the $16 tow hook...I'd be worried about whatever that $16 tow hook is hitting when it breaks.

The chrome hooks look good, and as long as it didnt weaken the tow hooks...

I don't think chroming weakens the metal. If it did, I guess there a lot of guys with weakened wheels !!

I read it on here that it will weaken the metal but to what extent I don't know nor did the post mention to what degree. Nevertheless, I think they look good.
