Red face Anyone know radio wire colors??

I tried searching and really didnt find anything, only speaker wire colors.

Anywho, does anyone know what color the constant, switched, and dimmer wires are on an 06?

Figured I would ask before I started poking around

Thank.

According to the CEMA cord colors:

Illumination (dimmer) is: Orange White
ACC Switch: Red
Constant: Yellow for + and Black for - (ground)

If they are different than what Ford uses then I am not sure... but I am installing my new head unit in about an hour or two, so I can find out by following the wires to the pinouts from the adapter harness to the Ford harness.

I don't know if or how much they'll help, but I saved off some 2004 Radio Wiring Schematics images (four of them) awhile back. They're listed at the top of my off-site gallery at http://www.gordonmerrill.com/truck. Good luck.

Bartak1, looks like you need to update your profile here ... still shows you driving a '99.

Thank Gordo, hopefully the colors are the same.

Go to crutchfield.com and add a stereo to the cart for your truck, Take note of the free adapter part # in the cart and if the number is 120705521 then they are the same.

Actually I just checked for you and they are the same adapter 04-07 so this diagram will work.

Sorry to revive old thread. Just got a PIE unit to connect into the factory stereo for my iPod. I tapped into the LG-YE wire, but that didn't seem to do anything - got the "No AUX Audio" message. Anyone have any thoughts? I've searched these forums and I'm a total newbie at this...but I figure I can do it. I've got a 2006 F-150 XLT... Thanks.
