Lariat vs. FX4

But for those of us who have no use for 4X4, there's no real reason to get it. If I want to get the extra two inches in height, then I can buy FX4 u-bolts and the longer shocks. Any resale value is going to be depreciated. You pay more up front, and you get a pro-rated portion upon resale. So, that argument doesn't really hold water.
says another one that has made his truck to look like a 4wd. see what i mean?

like i've always said: "its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!"

But then again, when you consider how much they cost, it makes perfect sense

Unfortunatly, I'll be 39 this year. I'm amazed. BTW, beautiful "old peeps" Lariat!!!!

I bought my 4x2 in Los Angeles, where I had zero need for a 4x4 and plans to drop the rear and put it on 22"s or 24"s. Then I got transferred to Phoenix, it would have been nice to have a 4x4 for the fun of it, but I was able to play around a little and enjoy the truck. Next I got transferred to Denver. Man, I wish I had a 4x4! The road condition alone can get pretty nasty and the plowing hasn't been the greatest. Plus I would love to take the truck out to some of the more remote area's here and play around. Now, do I need a 4x4, not in the strictest sense, but could I use one, sure.
Moral of that long winded tale? Think much farther out than you think you will need the truck and if you are positive things won't change, then get the 4x2. But really, just get the 4x4 anyway.
And yes, now I am making my truck look more like a 4x4, things happen.

I'm still running stock with those. I leveled it to get rid of the nose-down look and got more aggressive/wider tires because the stockers looked weak, but that's it. Next time, get the facts first.
okay...if you say so. if you say it often enough, you might even believe it.
