Any resale value is going to be depreciated. You pay more up front, and you get a pro-rated portion upon resale. So, that argument doesn't really hold water.

says another one that has made his truck to look like a 4wd. see what i mean?

like i've always said: "its better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it!"
I know what you are saying. A perfect example is my friend who has a screw 4x2 that he had in Texas. He used if hunting and had no issue, but he has since relocated to AZ and we find that hunting here required a 4x4. So, now we use my truck and not his because we got his stuck in the mountains once.

I don't know if I should thank you for thinking my truck looks like a 4X4 or if I should tell you to look before you post. I didn't add 4X4 u-bolts nor longer shocks. I'm still running stock with those. I leveled it to get rid of the nose-down look and got more aggressive/wider tires because the stockers looked weak, but that's it. Next time, get the facts first.

But then again, when you consider how much they cost, it makes perfect sense
RockPick the friendly MOD is way way way under 50 and drives a King Ranch. I am 27 and drive a King Ranch. You just are not looking hard enough.

Unfortunatly, I'll be 39 this year. I'm amazed. BTW, beautiful "old peeps" Lariat!!!!
Thanks for the compliment RMS. I guess anyone over 30 is considered old! I guess you're as old as you feel. Hell I feel like I am 25! I do like the Fx4 grille but I would rather have my Lariat upgrades. To the previous poster about leveling and not looking like a 4x4.... your truck looks more like a 4x4 than my 4x4 does! Don't get me wrong, you got a nice looking truck and if I was thumbing through pictures I would have thought it was a
4x4.

I bought my 4x2 in Los Angeles, where I had zero need for a 4x4 and plans to drop the rear and put it on 22"s or 24"s. Then I got transferred to Phoenix, it would have been nice to have a 4x4 for the fun of it, but I was able to play around a little and enjoy the truck. Next I got transferred to Denver. Man, I wish I had a 4x4! The road condition alone can get pretty nasty and the plowing hasn't been the greatest. Plus I would love to take the truck out to some of the more remote area's here and play around. Now, do I need a 4x4, not in the strictest sense, but could I use one, sure.

Moral of that long winded tale? Think much farther out than you think you will need the truck and if you are positive things won't change, then get the 4x2. But really, just get the 4x4 anyway.

And yes, now I am making my truck look more like a 4x4, things happen.

In Colorado at least you get EVERY dollar back for your 4WD that you paid for it.

I just sold my 10 year old Tacoma for $10700!
